Adoption Day Another Success!
"Super Hero" Sponsor
On November 17, 2017 we held our annual Adoption Day event in Tarrant County. We completed more than 65 adoptions for children in CPS care so they could spend the holiday season with new forever families. A big thank you to all of our supporters, donors, volunteers, attorneys and judges involved in the event!
Creating Forever Families!
We have many fantastic sponsors and donors who help us make Adoption Day the best it can be for the families and children involved each year. We will regularly spotlight one of these sponsors, so check back with us regularly to see one of our Super Hero Sponsors!
Tarrant County began an Adoption Day event in 2000 as part of the National Adoption Day celebration. National Adoption Day has grown from nine events in its first year to almost 400 events in U.S. cities in 2014. Every year, more than 100,000 children in foster care are available for adoption. Many spend more than five years waiting for permanent, loving homes. Between 2000 and 2015, more than 54,500 children were joined together with their forever families as part of National Adoption Day activities.
Tarrant County's Adoption Day event continues to grow and each year creates new forever families for deserving children. In 2016, we were able to complete adoptions for 68 children in the foster care system to be adopted into loving, forever homes. We also introduced a Super Hero theme which was a huge success. We had super hero capes for each of the adopted children and lots of super heroes in the courtrooms and walking around to congratulate the families and kids. Even some of the judges and volunteers got into the theme and wore super hero capes for the day!
Join us for a fantastic day with Opening Remarks at 8:45 am and adoptions from 9:00 am - 12:00 pm.
